Trump's Family Member Seeks Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Prior to Professional Golf Debut
This young athlete boasts impressive online presence
Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers when she begins her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses numerous international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa practically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events recently and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to go out there, relax, following the flow."
Kai will face several the biggest names in professional golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA commented that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, especially reaching younger fans.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle label.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
