Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
