Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A representative for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.
The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
